CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS 2) — Charges against Middleton mayor Darin Taylor have been dismissed.
According to Idaho court records, a motion to dismiss was filed May 1.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Taylor and his wife were arguing earlier this year when she tried to leave the house andgrabbed at her, pinching her upper left arm. The victim's sister told police that the domestic violence had been going on for years and that the weekend prior, Taylor grabbed her "by the throat and walked her down the hallway until she fell down," the court documents state."
After the arrest, Taylor said the recent events "have been sobering and unexpected, and I apologize for the embarrassment."
He had been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. The town's council members took a vote of no confidence and asked Taylor to resign.
