Publish date: 2024-07-11

According to the COVID-19 Wastewater Dashboard for the City of Boise, there has been an increase in the amount of SARS-CoV-2 in the wastewater for Boise, Garden City, and Eagle.

The SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes COVID-19. Over the past month, the number of viral copies per liter in the wastewater has gone from 18,000 to 56,000.

The City of Boise says that these water tests can be used as a warning for a potential increase in new COVID-19, but that you should interpret the numbers with caution because it's only a part of a holistic assessment of public health data.
