Women’s Singles Draw Preview and Analysis
Top Half
First Quarter
Iga Swiatek opens the draw against Cristina Bucsa and looks a clear favorite for the match. Victoria Azarenka and Bianca Andreescu will lock horns in an interesting first-round clash. Former champion Barbora Krejcikova also makes her place in the draw making things interesting as the tournament progressed ahead. Last year’s runner-up Coco Gauff also finds herself in the quarter making it a fairly competitive draw.
1st Quarterfinal Prediction: Iga Swiatek vs Coco Gauff
Second Quarter
Elena Rybakina opens the quarter against a lucky loser. Seventh-seeded Ons Jabeur also features in the quarter taking on Lucia Bronzetti to start her campaign. Anett Kontaveit is the only other big name in what looks to be a comparatively easy quarter for this year’s draw.
2nd Quarterfinal Prediction: Elena Rybakina vs Ons Jabeur
Third Quarter
Maria Sakkari, Belinda Bencic, Anastasia Potapova and Jessica Pegula are the big seeds in the draw. They are joined by Leylah Fernandez, Aliaksandra Sasnovich, Alize Cornet, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, and Camila Giorgi as well making things very interesting with some good potential match ups.
Third Quarterfinal Prediction: Jessica Pegula vs Maria Sakkari
Fourth Quarter
Local favorite Caroline Garcia opens the quarter against Xinyu Wang. Last year’s semi-finalist Martina Trevisan locks horns with Elina Svitolina while Karolina Pliskova and Sloane Stephens also go head-to-head in the first round. Aryna Sabalenka begins against Marta Kostyuk and the Ukraine-Belarus debate will once again be initiated with Kostyuk assured of showing her disapproval in some manner.
Fourth Quarter Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka vs Caroline Garcia
Semifinals
Coco Gauff looks unfortunate to lose out against Iga Swiatek once again in their potential quarter-final match. Meanwhile, Ons Jabeur looks certain to lose against Elen Rybakina in a repeat of the 2022 Wimbledon final. Maria Sakkari’s inconsistencies make Jessica Pegula a favorite in their match while Aryna Sabalenka can be seen breaking French hearts with a win over Caroline Garcia.
Swiatek and Rybakina will potentially be a final in itself with the two players going head-to-head once again. Pegula will find a tough challenge in the form of Sabalenka with the Belarusian looking for her second Major of the season and her career as well.
Finals: Iga Swiatek vs Aryna Sabalenka
Final
One can see Swiatek managing to beat Rybakina in hopes of winning her third French Open title. Sabalenka’s clay court prowess should be enough to dislodge Pegula. Swiatek and Sabalenka will however be a thrilling potential finale to the tournament. The Belarusian however looks the favorite to clinch the title this year for her consistency and overall momentum compared to Swiatek who’s nursing fitness issues as well.
